Ctrl + Shift + Down throws error while in formula, but works if I hit Shift + Ctrl + Down

Hi,

When I am writing formulas and highlighting ranges, I normally just hold the Ctrl +Shift and then enter down to highlight a range. Something recently went awry so that when I do that to select a range in a formula it jumps back to the cell in which I'm writing the formula (rather than the data I'm highlighting) and throws the following error:

"You've entered too few arguments for this function. To get help with this function, click OK to close this message. Then click the Insert Function button located to the left of the equal sign in your formula." However, if I highlight the range by first pressing Shift, and then Ctrl and down, it properly highlights the range for my formula (this is happening with any formula that requires selecting a range - e.g. index, vlookup, sumif, countif). My fingers are so used to holding down Ctrl and Shift and an arrow that I throw the error ever time even when I'm consciously trying to press Shift first.

I clearly accidentally turned on/off some setting, but I have no idea what it is - I've already tried unchecking the Transition Navigation Key option to no avail. I am using Excel 2010 and am getting so desperate about my sudden awkwardness with this shortcut that I'm thinking I'll have to uninstall and reinstall Excel with its default settings!

Help please!
