I want to refer to the current date in a macro and i'm not quite sure how to do it. i tried recording one and inserting with CTRL and : but that didn't really tell me anything.....

ideally i want to be able to have something along the lines of:

if runningDate = (whatever you write for current date) then....

etc etc

also searched here but can't really find anything that seems applicable

...so if anyone feels like helping that would be fantastique!!!

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
Try this, then add this function to your code. JSW

Sub myDate()
Dim Todays As Date
Todays = Date
MsgBox "Today is: " & Todays
End Sub
