custom number format

I use a custom number format to drop an "M" at the end of a number but I can't figure out how to add it to some default list so that it's in /format/cells/number/custom when I open a new workbook. So far I have to re-enter the format each time I open a new workbook.

Thanks.

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
apply this formatting to a cell or cells in your personal.xls file located in your XLSTART folder (path is: program filesmicrosoft officeofficexlstart)
if you don't have a personal.xls file, open a blank workbook, add this formatting to it, then save it to the above-mentioned path with the name 'personal.xls'.

by doing this, you will notice that your custom formatting appears in the custom format list when you open a new workbook

Will this work for pivot table formats also? I use pivot tables a lot, and I haven't found a way to change the default format. Number fields are always general. I need to always see these in comma number style/format. Is there a way to change the startup default format for pivot table number fields?
