custom views disappear

We have a 3 page workbook that we store on our server. The server is using Windows Server 2000 NT technology.

The workbook is shared.
We use it to track our jobs.
One sheet has info from cell A1 through AG3226. Not every line and cell is used, but there is a lot of data.
This is the sheet that has the memorized custom views.
We have created 8 "custom views" to filter out data on this sheet.
(The other 2 sheets don't contain much info at all and are not included in the views.)

The workstations use either Windows XP home or Pro.
We use Excel 2000.

Every now and then the custom views just disappear.
So, I have to spend time recreating them which is extremely frusrating.

We backup the file every day using a different name for the file.
Is there any way to copy or export the custom views from the last backup and import them into the current Excel file that lost the memorized views?

My Excel knowledge and ability is all self-taught and I'm probably considered a beginner at best. For example, I've never written or used macros.
So if you have any solutions, please try to adjust your answer to my dummy level.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!!!

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
Hello everyone,

I am hoping one of you can post a quick reply to my question.

At this point, I'm guessing "custom views" can't be exported/imported from one workbook to another?

Sure hope one of you can either make me happy with an answer or confirm what I suspect (that it can't be done.)

Thanks!

Wow........ no replies.

I'm guessing either

I asked a difficult question,

no one knows,

or no one wants to give me bad news that it can't be done.

But I appreciate those of you who took the time to view my post.
