Custom Views for an Excel Table?

I have an Excel Table, created via an ODBC Connection that I frequently refresh, whereby I imported multiple text files into the single Excel Table. The Custom Views icon is greyed. Does this mean this feature is not available for use in tables? I would like to save several filter and hidden column settings. If Custom Views is not available for tables, would the next best thing be to create macros to set these views? I am running Excel 2007.

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
