Customising the Ribbon VIDEO

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
That is not very difficult. Once you have a few macros you can add these. But to practie you can build your own menu with existing commands.

Right click on the ribbon and select 'Customise the Ribbon...'
A large dialogbox opens with two columns of menu items. Below the right list you see 'New Tab'
Click New Tab
An item 'NewTab (Custom) appears in the right list. You can rename it to soemthing meaningful
Now can can move items from the actions list on the left into your new tab.
OK, just pick a few and either drag them in or use the Add button in the middle.
You can move your new tab up and down in the list to move its position on the Ribbon, if you so wish.

Click OK and there it is.

To remove it go in again and delete the New Tab.
