Ok thank you for all the comments.

Now I am running into another issue.

I would like the user to be able to customize a pivot chart with data that is already in Access and I would like to do this through a form.

I would like to be able to click a button and the pivot chart will appear and at that point they will be able to change the pivot chart to their liking. Is there a way to do this?

Another way I would like is for the user to choose the filters such as Date, Vendor, Material Type, before the chart is even shown. Is that possible?

Thank you,
Betty

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
To do the filtering before opening the form, create a new query based on the form's data source. Drag each field into the matrix -- don't use the "*" -- and in the Criteria row of each field you want to filter, enter some question enclosed in square brackets. For example, in the Date field, type "[Enter the date:]". Each of these bracketed questions becomes a parameter, and they're used as filters.

Then design the form and change its RecordSource property to this new query with parameters. When you open the form (or just this new query), you'll be asked the four questions every time.
