Dashboard mystery

I have a Dashboard with Pivot Charts that I've inherited which will return information based on the slicer that is selected. I need to check the Source Data as to its currency but I can't find any. When I click on Change Source Data a Named Range comes up but after clicking it says that Reference is not valid. Going to Name Manager returns #REF #REF, despite all this, the Pivot Charts seem to work. How can I find the Source Data? Does this continue to work because it's in some sort of cache?
