Can anyone give me any advice on creating a data entry form in Excel?

Its going to be a profit and loss account btw

Also,

In the profit/loss part of the account i would like to have it split into months. The data entry will be filled at the end of the week and will automatically go into the month part. I dont know how to make it so the data from the data entry form goes into the correct month. I think its something to do with validation or macros

Can anyone help me? - If u need more info on my question just post again
Keep in mind im an Excel rookie

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.

Welcome to the Board!

Probably the simplest way is to set your form headers in a new sheet, then select Data-->Form. It's Excel's packaged data form. It's not the prettiest in the world, but it's functional.

From there you can use VLOOKUP or SUMIF depending on how your P&L summary is set-up.

Try posting a bit of what you've got so far, using Colo's HTML Maker. You'll find the link at the bottom of the page.

Hope that helps,

Re: Data Entry Forms //// Profit and Loss account - V. Confu

It kinda wasnt what i was looking for - I want to actually do the data entry form in excel cells and use formulas and macros to update the profit and loss account.

Does anyone know how to validate a cell in this circumstance?
I want it too only accept data on 4 saturdays a month - This will obviously mean using the date/today function
Because i want excel to update the profit and loss account when i type it in every saturday. This will happen 4 times every month but i dont really understand the date codes etc.

Anyone help?
