I have a workbook that has several text fields that must be entered. However, there are three special characters which should cause an error message to appear which are <>;

I am trying to enter a formula into the Custom Data validation but am having issues with creating one to do what I need it to.

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.

Try this...

Assume the cell in question is A1.

As the validation formula use:

=ISERR(FIND("<",A1))+ISERR(FIND(">",A1))+ISERR(FIND(";",A1))=3
