Hi,

I am running a simple clustered column chart off a pivot table. The table shows a column for each of 5 years and when I add a data label it appears in the format for example, $150,000,000 which is essentially 150 million.
When I right click on the data label and click format data label, I go down to Number where it is defaulted to General under format code and linked to source is ticked. Instead of showing $150,000,000 I want it to show $150.0m so I edit the format code box to $0.0,,"m" and click add. The format code box changes to the formula I entered but the linked to source box appears unticked.

So I then close out of the format data labels section & everything looks fine in the chart and data label.

Then if I edit the name of the tab for example the data labels disappear.

It is really annoying, any ideas what I am doing wrong? Or a workaround?

Thanks
