Data Sort Problem

Hi you guys,

I have a problem with a data sort.

Imagine that I have data in 2 columns A and B:

column A: Column B:

A1- 10 B5- 2
A2- 12 B6- 5
A3- 14 B7- 6
A4- 20 B8- 10

Now in columns C and D I want to have something like that:

C1- 10 D1- 2
C2- 12 D2- 5
C3- 14 D3- 6
C4- 20 D4- 10

the normal sort doesn't do that because if you select the range A1:B8 and then make the normal sort excel recognize that the values in column A is already sort and doesn't sort the others.

Sorry but is difficult to explain this better.

best regards

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
Welcome.

If you go through Data|Sort, you can specify upto three levels of sorting.

Hi Psitaram,

In fact we have 3 level's in the data sort, but the problem is that in the file I have several columns, so the 3 level's doesn't are sufficient, that why I can't solve the problem.

Best regards

Try concatenating the first three columns into a separate column and sort the remaining columns using the new column. Be sure to add a space or other separator (a character that is not expected to appear in your data) between cell values. Also, copy and paste values in the new column before the second sort.
