Hi folks, wonder if anyone can help?

I've created some files which grabbed data from a Foxpro 2.6 app. I was using win 95/Excel 2000 when I made them.

Now when I use the same app (Excel 2000) but installed on Win XP Pro and try to refresh the files created using 95 I get an error message saying

[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified.

Refreshing using the 95 machine is fine.

Also if I create a new file using XP Pro using same database I get the same message trying to refresh on the 95 machine after succesfully refreshing on the Xp machine.

I think it's something to do with default ODBC setup with regard to O/S but dont know how to fix it. It's like right now I can only refresh using the OS the file was made on, not possible with both, one messes the other up

Ideas would be appreciated

Cheers

Sounds like the database is named on the Windows9x machine and not on the XP box. Does your code direct to a specific file location or does it connect to a named database source?

If it is a named source you will need to have this source in your ODBC settings for the OS.
