I'm trying to develop at excel document at work for one department to screen out simple questions before it can be passed on to a different department. What I'd like to come up with is something like
Question 1
Do you drive a car?
a) yes
b) no
I'd like to have the possible answers "Yes" and "No" appear in a drop down window. You would need to answer "Yes" to this question to proceed to Question 2.
Question 2
The car I drive is
a) foreign
b) domestic
If your answer to question 2 is foreign, then Question 3 becomes
The foreign car I drive is made in
a) Germany
b) Japan
c) Other
If your answer to question 2 is domestic then Question 3 becomes
The domestic car I drive is a
a) Ford
b) Chrysler
And so forth. What's happening is our Sales Department is forwarding a lot of crap to my department without really vetting the leads so we end up wasting a lot of time filtering the crap out and not being able to process the leads because the Sales guys didn't even ask lead some basic questions. I'd like to implement a questionnaire that the Sales guys have to go through before they can pass it on to my department. Sending emails and asking them to be a little more thorough has proven ineffective.
I believe I'll need to use data validation with questions that are conditional upon the previous drop down answers. Can anyone provide some guidance or provide some resources to help me?
