Can any one Help?
I have a list of massive data that I have put into a data validation drop down list. However does anyone know if instead of clicking on the drop down list, you can type the first letter of that list and it would jump to that particular part of the list?? If so HOW???

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
You can do that with combo boxes etc in the properties of the box...not too sure as to whether or not the same applies to data validation drop down lists but you could have a look....

Thanks for your reply, however its not quite what I'm looking for. The result of the picking list needs to be in the cell as charts and pivot table report on the data, therefor I beleiive that a combo box would not be right. Idealy I would like the user to select an entry from the list by clicking on the cell, pressing a letter then using the up and down arrow keys to scroll threw the entries associated with that letter. Thanks in advance for you time and knowledge!

Not sure I follow as a ComboBox result can be linked to a cell quite easily...anyway over to the Data Validation guys...
