data validation question

I have a data validation list, my question is

Hope i can describe what i want to do

If you begin to enter data inthe cell that it will bring bring up the closest entry

Example if i have Cattle in the list and i start to type cattle in that cell when i click on c it will bring up the first work with C.

Is this possible?

I have not seen that functionality in a native data validation setting. You can achieve what you describe by placing an activex combobox on the sheet instead of data validation, and setting its MatchEntry property to 0-fmMatchEntryFirstLetter.
