Data Validation using VBA

In my spreadsheet, I prompt the user to enter a code. The code should be 4 characters. The code is then placed into a cell. I know that I can use data validation to make sure the user has only entered 4 characters into the cell. However, I want the VBA code to check for that before it is ever entered into the cell. How can I do so?

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
I'm presuming your using an InputBox to get the code. If so, then this should work OK: -
<pre>
Dim Answer As String

Do
Answer = InputBox("Enter a 4 letter code")
If Len(Answer) <> 4 Then MsgBox "No. 4 letters only"
Loop Until Len(Answer) = 4
</pre>
