Dear All, it seems like a systems problem. On my pc if i enter the date in any blank sel starting with the ddmmyy the display date will automatic be inverted to yymmdd. This happen irrespective the date format you choose. How can one set it to accept the entry ddmmyy and keep it that way to function as a date.

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
If you enter 17/08/07 in a cell how does it appear? And what number do you get if you format the cell as General?

Have you checked your settings in Control Panel|Regional and Language Options|Regional Options...|select language then|Customize|Date tab?
