Hi

I want a date difference formula to exclude weekends that calculates a number in column D. Column C is straightforward that includes weekends... =SUM(B1-A1).

<TABLE style="WIDTH: 324pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=432><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 74pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 3584" width=98><COL style="WIDTH: 62pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 3035" width=83><COL style="WIDTH: 53pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 2596" span=2 width=71><COL style="WIDTH: 82pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 3986" width=109><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 13.5pt" height=18><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: #f0f0f0; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; WIDTH: 74pt; HEIGHT: 13.5pt; BORDER-TOP: #f0f0f0; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" id=td_post_1590001 class=xl68 height=18 width=98></TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: #f0f0f0; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; WIDTH: 62pt; BORDER-TOP: #f0f0f0; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl71 width=83>A</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: #f0f0f0; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; WIDTH: 53pt; BORDER-TOP: #f0f0f0; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl72 width=71>B</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: #f0f0f0; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; WIDTH: 53pt; BORDER-TOP: #f0f0f0; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl72 width=71>C</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: #f0f0f0; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; WIDTH: 82pt; BORDER-TOP: #f0f0f0; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl73 width=109>D</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 39pt" height=52><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: #f0f0f0; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; HEIGHT: 39pt; BORDER-TOP: #f0f0f0; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl68 height=52></TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 1pt solid; BORDER-LEFT: windowtext 1pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #92d050; WIDTH: 62pt; BORDER-TOP: windowtext 1pt solid; BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid" class=xl74 width=83>Date

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.

Hi Rebekah

=NETWORKDAYS(A2,B2)

You need to install the Analysis Toolpak if you are using excel 2003 or earlier. This can by done by going Tools > Addins > check Analysis Toolpak.

Also, NETWORKDAYS can take a 3rd argument of holiday dates to be excluded, e.g.:

=NETWORKDAYS(A2,B2,Z1:Z10)
