Date format problem

Hi,
I'm new to the board. This is awesome. I'm building a spreadsheet that will
have data comparing this year to last year. I formatted a row of cells to
Mar-98 to show the date. My problem is that every date I enter shows 05 as the year. ex. I input Dec 04 into a cell and it is changed to Dec 05
automatically. How do I change this please.

I just read the "enter a 4 digit year" tip in excel help. If I enter
Dec 2004 I get Dec 04 just like I wanted. I thought there might
be an easier way to enter the date.
