Date format

Hi,

I'm trying to convert dates to text format using this:

=MONTH(A1)&"/"&DAY(A1)&"/"&YEAR(A1)

This makes the date in this format 5/1/2005 for 1st May 2005.

How can I make it into this format please: 05/01/2005

on format cell, choose the format you want or on Custom put in MM/DD/YYYY

Thanks anthonya but they are in text format.

In A1 for example I have 05/01/2005 mm/dd/yyyy in date format (yes - I can format this as any date format).

I want to cut and paste that date into a txt document.

To do this I converted it to text format in another cell using the above formula but it comes out as m/d/yyyy.

oooops too easy ...worked it out!

=TEXT(A1,"mm/dd/yyyy")
