date format

Hi all,

small problem , got a date which looks like this 1/9/2008 which is reading the date as 1st jan 2008 , i want to read this date as 1st sept 2008.


pl help

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
use following formatting..it will read as day first then month and then year
=TEXT(A4,"dd/mm/yyyy")

I think what you want to do is to select your date column and go Data>TextToColumns>Next>Next>and on the third screen select an import format of Date and choose DMY from the dropdown. I am assuming that when you said 1st Jan 2008 you actually meant 9th Jan 2008?
