Date formating probs or the twilight zone,

Hello ,

When i try to convert a date in this format
yymmdd
and try to format it to yyyymmdd i get a year value around 4400 not in the 1900,s or 2000,s.

I hope its a mistake or ive overslept the last 2000 odd years.
How do i format this to the correct year.
Got to go, have to go to the spaceport to catch a catch a craft to the other side of the universe.

Are you sure it's really an Excel date? If 020914 doesn't show up as something like 9/14/2002 in the formula bar, Excel isn't recognizing it as a date.

its because you have entered the twilight zone.

Its a date imported from a share trading program.

I have solved the prob another way, but i cant use the date formats that are written as 100/22/01 for the year 2000/22/01.
