Hi

My accounting system stores dates in an integer format - YYYYDDD. YYYY is the year and DDD is the number of days since the start of the year. For example, 1 Jan 2011 is 2011001 and today is 2011116. Is there an easy method to convert dates in this format to the standard Excel date format?

Thanks

QB

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Try this, provided it's always a 3 digit day, example Jan 16th is 2011016

=DATE(LEFT(A1,4),1,RIGHT(A1,3))

Another one...

A1 = 2011116

="1/1/2011"+RIGHT(A1,3)-1

Thanks JonMo and VoG. I'd solved this in the past but I couldn't find the workbook I had used the formula in the passed.
