dde logging in excel from rslogix?

I am fairly new at this and looking to write a macros that will form a dde database in excel from rslogix oem. I am looking to have a bit trigger the database to log an integer, basically each time a production line goes into Auto, to log the mins of production time and then have a time stamp of the data enter next to each cell, each time this happens each day.

I would appreciate any help or direction I could get, thanks.
