Someone please tell me... how do I turn off the clipboard? I hate it and never want to see it again.

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
i'm using xl xp. and on that, if you go to Edit -> Office Clipboard, at the bottom of the clipboard pane there is an options button. you can set your settings from there.

i don't think there is a way to delete it. would you really want to though?

No, I don't really want to delete it I just don't want it popping up all the time. I'm sick of closing it.

I'm using 2000 and don't see the setting you mentioned.

do a search in excel for "Turn Office Clipboard On Off" and see what results yield back.

Check here.

Per the knowledge base:

There is no Visual Basic for Applications object model for the Office Clipboard, so there is no way to programmatically manipulate it.

and:

As you copy items, the Office Clipboard automatically appears on your desktop. You can close it if you do not want it to appear automatically. After closing the toolbar three times, you are prompted to permanently close it. If you permanently close the clipboard, to redisplay it, on the View menu, click Toolbars and then click Clipboard.
