Debug Error

I am getting an error as follows:

Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library
Debug Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\EXCEL.EXE
abnormal program termination
(Press Retry to debug the application)

I have tried to Abort, Retry, and Ignore and nothing worked. Please help.

Please describe the steps which led up to this error. What exactly did you do from the moment you attempted to start Excel or open the workbook (whichever came first, if applicable)?

Has Excel ever run correctly on this machine? Has the workbook ever opened correctly, assuming you're getting as far as that?

I ran a report which is in a JAVA based program and downloaded it using CSV format. When I select Abort, Retry, or Ignore, the screen will flash and go back to the program. Usually, Excel will open the file. Now, I am getting the error message.

Yes, when not using the above process, Excel is working fine.

So you downloaded the report in CSV format to... where? To your hard disk?

Then you tried to open it from the hard disk using Excel and Excel gave you the 'Abort/Retry/Ignore' message?

If you open the CSV file using a text-based editor such as Notepad, does it look okay to you?

There must be a built-in feature with in the Report Writer program that I use which is called Business Object. It opens the file in Excel, PDF, or CSV format. When I open it as CSV that’s when the error occurred. It works fine when opening as Excel, but not CSV.
