Something affected my PC so now new worsheets default to tenths. For example, if I type "2" into a blank cell, it appears as "0" and its value is "0.2". In order to get "2", I have to type "2" and "0". Any help would be appreciated! Thank you in advance.

What version are you using? Under Tools-->Options in 2003 and earlier there is an editing tab I believe? that has an option for automatically insert a decimal point, maybe that got turned on or changed somehow?

In 2007 it is under the Office Button, Excel Options and then under the Advanced section.

Thank you ... one follow up but different question ... I have a personal workbook - where do I save it? Now I just open it with each open of Excel. Where do I save it so it is permanent?

Thank you!

I would recommend just recording a macro into your personal workbook and it will create it for you and then you can use the search function on your pc to find where it stored it and then move your code into there and delete the recorded macro.

Or you can put it in this path:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\XLSTART

Change office12 to whatever version you are using:

Office12 = 2007
Office11 = 2003
Office10 = 2000

and so forth.

Hope that helps.
