Is there a way to default an "input" cell to default to a value if nothing is inputed into that cell? Or, is there a way to force the "input" cell to only accept certain values? Tanks in advance.

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.

The only way (I know of) to force certain values in a cell (without the user attempting to input something in the cell) is by using the WORKBOOK_BEFORECLOSE event ... test and then force the values then.

You can use DATA VALIDATION to make sure that users a limited with what they can input into a cell.

Thanks Jim. The VALIDATION was the way to go. If it helps anyone else, I listed the values that I wanted the input cell to be limited to in a couple of cells somewhere out of site on my worksheet. Then used the VALIDATION to limit the input cell to those numbers in the cells that were out of site. Works like a charm. Also allowed me to input a message that helps the user input the correct numbers. Thanks again.
