Hi all.
Is there a simple way to reset all Excel toolbars to their original / default positions? (If not a simple way, is there a hard way?)

A friend loves to rearrange windows, toolbars, icons etc on his desktop and applications and then phones me up to help him find his toolbars etc.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
Take a look in the Help for Toolbar Configuration. I think you can set them where you want and then save that and then restore it later.

Thnaks for the prompt reply folks.

So, if someone is in trouble with their toolbars, I can send them a 'standard' .xlb file.

The hard part is getting them to paste the file into the application data / microsoft / excel folder.

My biggest worry is they now they'll know about the existence of such a folder on their PC and they'll start playing around with that too!!!

Nothing is simple is it!

If you rename the xlb file (when Excel is closed), then start Excel, it will recreate the xlb file if you modify the toolbars (even moving them). Similar to the normal.dot file in Microsoft Word.
