Hello, Is there any formula to change a number to Degrees-minutes-seconds?

Like 121.51555
to 121-30-55.98

Thanks

### Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.

=INT(A1) & " - " & INT(60*(A1-INT(A1))) & " - " & ROUND(MOD(A1*3600,360),2)

Thanks for the reply. I cut and pasted that in the cell then put the cell that held the number after it (B18). Excel said I should put an * befor the (B18)so I did. All I get is #VALUE! in the cell that I put the sting in. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

The formula is based on the number being in A1.

Change all the A1's to the cell ref that actually contains the number.

Thanks an awful lot, it is very close. It worked on the 3 digit longitude,
121 - 30 - 55.97

but on the 2 digit
lat it gave 38 - 33 - 198.83
instead of 38 - 33 - 18.83

I loaded it twice with the same results. Any suggestions? Thanks

After playing with figures the formula works for all numbers .51 and below , but anything over that it throws in the exta 60 seconds.
And I'm sure not good enough to figure out what to change.

=INT(A1)&" - "&INT(60*(A1-INT(A1)))&" - "& ROUND(60*((60*(A1-INT(A1)))-INT((60*(A1-INT(A1))))),2)
