delete a part of a cell's data

Hi
I have a column of cells that I need to delete part of the date from.
Each cell contains 3 numbers followed by TO E (525 to E)
I want to delete the to E
I’m trying to do it with a macro with a short cut key because there are some blank cell in the column
I tried to record a macro by using F2 and the backspace key, but it just copies the same number to the next cell

    For x = 1 To Cells(Rows.Count, "A").End(xlUp).Row   'CHANGE THE COLUMN HERE
        Cells(x, 1).Value = Left(Cells(x, 1), Len(Cells(x, 1) - 5))

This assumes column A. Always save before testing macros.

    Cells.Replace What:=" to e", Replacement:="", LookAt:=xlPart
End Sub

Or for a particular Range

Code:

Sub Macro1()
    Range("A2:Z1000").Replace What:=" to e", Replacement:="", LookAt:=xlPart
End Sub
