Delete Duplicates

Is there a function where I can select a huge amount of data and tell it to only have one instance of a particular row?

example:

2 2839283
2 2839283
3 090-9-9
3 090-9-9
8 090-9-09
8 090-9-09

can I select them all and only tell excel to keep one of them?

Yep..
Tool Bar..Data...Filters...Advanced Filter..Unique records only

Example .. lets say you dupes are in Column A

1. Highlight Column A
2. Bring up the Advanced filters dialog box : Data..Filter..Advanced Filter
3. Click the Radio button "copy to another location"
4. In the "Copy To " box type in a column to use eg $B:$B
5. Click the checkbox "unique records only "
6. Click the OK button
