Delete the row if no text in column 1

Excel Facts

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
I assume you mean column A not column 1. Try this
Code:
Sub Delete()
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
      Dim LR As Long, i As Long
LR = Range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row
For i = LR To 1 Step -1
    If Range("A" & i).Value = "" Then Rows(i).Delete
Next i
Application.ScreenUpdating = True
End Sub
