Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
The main idea behind a gantt chart is to find the "critical path" (correct me if I am wrong). By analyzing dependencies, you are looking to see whose waiting for some other task to be finished before it can begin. These are always potential losses of time - but at the end of the day only if its on the critical path, which is the task that finishes last, with all its dependencies before it.
