I've selected a cell range, say A1:A10

now I want to move the entire range down 10 cells, so the new range will be from A11:A20.

can I do this using a formula?

thank u so much!!!!!!!!!

Hi Silvertree

Welcome to the Board!

I'm not sure I follow you, but you can use Cut & Paste to move the cells elsewhere. You could use formulas to reference the existing range, but the range would still subsequently exist in A1:A10, with duplicate values resulting from the reference in A11:A20.

Perhaps you can explain in more detail exactly what you are trying to do?

Best regards

Richard

Sorry, I didn't explain it clearly.

I have lots of data so I cannot do that manually to all the data.

Actually I want to sum the values A1:A10 then I want to sum values in A11:A20 then sum values in A21:A30 and so on and so on...

Is there a way I can move the range down 10 cells every time?

How can I do that?

Well, you could use the following formula in an adjacent free column:

=SUM(OFFSET($A$1:$A$10,(ROW()-1)*10,0))

enter this in the first row eg B1 or C1 or D1 and copy down.

Richard

PS You may find pivot tables to be of use depending on your specific situation.
