Detecting user inactivity

i have been trying to work out a method for detecting user inactivity when working on userforms. is there an API which detects events, for example that I could use to poll activty? any suggestions would be great.

thanks for that link. the workbook_change method will not work when the project is userform based unless it writes back to the sheet, which this project does not do. its a good method otherwise. i am hoping to find an event level solution but my API skills are not up to it.
