Hi, i'm using a dialogsheet on which i hoped to list a set of instructions for a user to update a workbook. I've typed the instructions into a Label, but despite the fact i can expand the size of the label as much as i want, it only ever shows the first X number of characters. (i) so am i to assume Labels are restricted to certain number of chrs and if so (ii) is there another obvious/better way of doing this, other than having a normal sheet called Instructions... which is what i'm about to revert to!
Thanks,
Matt.

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
which version of excel? I'm in Excel 2007 and there doesn't seem to be a limit to how much verbage can be in one...very similar to how there is no measurable limit to how much my girlfriend wants to talk after i've had a long day at the office. Also, similarly, her verbage is in the form of instructions.

Hi, still on 2003 unfortunately, so perhaps thats the issue. Perhaps thats also a solution for gf's + immeasurable verbiage... rollback.

I've had to write similar instructions for my addin in excel 2003, and I found it benefitial to create a userform and put my instructions inside it. You can have the user click a button on the page or have the userform open at the workbook_open event. I didn't see a limit to the number of characters I could use in userform labels, so maybe there's a difference between userform label character limits and toolbar label limits. I also prefer userforms because you can organize the information a little bit neater in my opinion, and if you make it modeless, then the user can shift the instructive form around anywhere on their screen while messing with the workbook. Do you know how to create userforms?

Hi Joe,
Yes thanks i've gone the route of UsrForms rather than the dialog sheet, as you say, better layouts etc. Cheers
Matt.
