Difference between HLookup and Vlookup

Hi all

I thought someone was playing the fool by talking about Hlookup.

Can anyone please tell me the differences and which would be better to use .

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying

you might wanna take a look in the excel help file. Basically, the difference is that HLOOKUP looks horizontally and VLOOKUP looks vertically.
