Hi - I need to do some Sales Analysis for a huge eCommerce business. At present moment not entirely sure of precise requirements.

Can someone pls me key differences btwn these 2 analysis tools ?

I am very familiar with Data Table Relation concepts being an Oracle Programmer.

What are the pros & con's of each tool ? Which tool should I use for the project ?

Thanks in Advance.

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
Totally different tools. Power Pivot is for modeling your data, building relationships, writing awesome re-usable measures, etc. Power View is a visualization tool... that some like.

Thanks. Am I correct to understand that PW is used to infer results from PP to draw charts, etc ?

I typically use normal old Excel to create pivot tables, pivot charts, etc. But yes... you can also use Power View to create some nice looking dashboards.

As PV is a relatively new concept, is it a free inbuilt Excel feature ? Does it come in Office 2013 or Office 365 ?

Hard question to answer :) I'm pretty sure that in terms of EXCEL... it's the same terrible licensing as Power Pivot -- you must have Professional Plus. It also ships as part of Sharepoint 2013... where you can build Power View reports without Excel. Then there is the newest thing... Power BI Designer as part of the new PowerBI.com site, which is a new tool, separate from ... well, everything, ... that includes a Power View-like experience. And that is totally free.
