Difference formula advice.

Hi,

Can you advise please.
I have a record a dog weights and have them in a simple spread sheet.
What i would like to do as opposed to making just entries of each weight each time is to be able to apply a formula so i can see the + or - difference in weight on the previous entry

Example.
May 2014 29KG
June 2014 30.5Kg + 1.5Kg
August 2014 28.5Kg -2Kg

c2=b2-b1 and drag down.

Advice: Remove kg from all cells so only numbers remain.
Assuming the date is in column A and weight is in B

format C2 as Custom with type of
+0.00;-0.00

in C2
=B2-A2

I do not see +0.00;-0.00 in the type drop down options ?

You have to select Custom and enter +0.00; -0.00 below the Type field

Yet again i learn something.
I thought you could onlt select from the drop down box, didnt know you could put the +0.00;-0.00 in place of where it read General.
Anyway got it working but need some more added to the formula,see below please.
F6 = SEPT 2014
G6 = 33.1
H6 = +3.00 "as last weight entered was 30.1"

What i now see in H7 is -33.10 because its taking into account of the last entry G6 "33.1"
After that all cells read +0.00

I would like these cells in H to all read "nothing" until i actually enter my data in the cells as and when i weigh the dogs.
