# Difficult to fill down

Hi,

I managed to get the worksheet to produce the desired answer, however, there is a chicken and egg problem which makes simply filling across and down not possible. This stems from the dependency of one cell on another.

Does anyone see how to rearrange the calculations so that I can do a simple fill down?

Thanks,

Art

### Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.

##### Board Regular
All your formulas seem like they would copy down right.. Except for Column G.. Which has a different formula in G6:G9 and G10:G12

Column B could be =C6+\$F\$4, but I don't see why it would be a problem copy any of the other formulas down.

Thanks for your reply. I realized after putting up my post that the section of the worksheet where I had the fill problem did not show up. It can be seen in my newest post. The problem occurs from column J onward. The values of the current cell require the value of the next cell which isn't filled yet.

The worksheet always works if I change the data in column A, however, I can't change the size of the worksheet easily.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Art

OK, with a little work, I gotten the worksheet fill problem partly solved using conditional statements to place "seed" values in blank cells.

For columns B-J, (A is the data) I can begin at the top and fill down using the fill handle on B-J simultaneously. For cells in columns K-O, I need to fill down each column in turn beginning with K, then M, etc.

Is there a fill command that sequentially fills down columns from left to right?
