Am I missing something?

Why apply a 'digital signature' to your VBA code anymore?

In Excel 2003 your could digitally sign code and then the Users were prompted to either ENABLE, DISABLE, or install the certificate and then always trust the signer.

In Excel 2007, they user can't ENABLE, unless he installs the certificate. Even after the certificate has been installed, they still have to ENABLE/DISABLE everytime they open the file. So what is the point?

I am thinking it would be easier all round if I remove our "in-house" digital signatures, as if unsigned the Users gets an ENABLE/DISABLE choice anyway

Surely i am missing something?

Am i ?

I understand that, my point is why digitally sign your code now?

I guess my point is... my company has the security set at "Disable all, with notification". Which I think is the best option for us.

I believe that it is now better for me not to sign code in 2007.

If the code is signed, then Users must install the certificate for it to run. And even after this is installed the User will still get asked to enable/disable. If they did want to install my certificate, they would have to follow a long list of instructions to do so too.

If unsigned then the Users just gets a simple enable/disable option.

So I think it will be easier (for me) to forget about signing. Which seem a little backward step to me.
