If a cell equals a certain value, (say A9 = 1) is there a way to disable a Data Validation Drop Down in another cell (say in A1) or, would I have to use Conditional Formatting to hide any data in A1 so hopeful users will not make a selection whilst A9 = 1… Any ideas please?

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
You can disable the drop-down by putting a formula in the List source definition ... but that would just stop the drop-down arrow doing anything, and wouldn't clear any current selection. You'd do Data Validation/List , source :
Code:
=IF(A9<>1,ListName,"")

Would that do?
