Hi,

I need to disable renaming sheets by double-clicking the sheet tab.
I do not want want to Protect the workbook, I would still want users to be able to add sheets or rename them by right-clicking and choosing rename which goes through some custom code
but the double-clicking to rename does not go through the same code

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
Hi,
You could test following
VBA Code:
Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range)
If Sheet1.Name <> "Current Name" Then Sheet1.Name = "Current Name"
End Sub

Thanks for your reply, I have used this method in couple of very important sheets.
But the user can add new sheets, and I dont know the names of these sheets, I want the rename of the sheet when it happens to go through some custom code which it is going through when you right-click and choose rename but not when you double-click
