Disappearing decimal numbers in both the table and the form

Access 2010...table field properties...Data Type set to Number..Field Size set to Long Integer...Format set to Standard...Decimal Places set to Auto.

I enter, either directly in the table or in the form, the number "35.31" and click on New Record or Tab or Enter...the "31" disappears and I'm left with "35.00"

What am I doing wrong????

Hi,
Long Integer is the wrong data type - regardless of formatting Integer data types will discard decimals. You probably want to choose a field size of Double. That will save decimal data.
