Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Did this accured only once or always with this document??

If it only happened once there was still (invisible) Excel Running.

You can try the following to make it visible again.

Goto Extra, Macro, Visual Basic Editor

Then insert a module and place this macro.

sub Monkey
Application.Screenupdating = true
End sub

If it didn't work let us know

Something else which OS are you running. Is the file damaged? if yes What error code do you get?
do you have your virus scanner turned on which scans for macro virussus. This can be a problem if it is a big file. It scans the entire document for a virus.

Can anybody else help this guy out?

Grasping at straws probably but have you tried opening the file from Explorer or My Computer rather than Excel?
