I'm down loading from a site that doesn't give me the option of what fields to download. Instead it just downloads everything and it's total information overload. I need about 5 percent of the fields that it gives me.

Is there a way to create a macro or that would automatically go through and delete all of the fields that I don't need? Could I create my own template in excel?

Or do I need to be using some other program to do this?

If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
If the data dump delivers the same fields each time, consistently, then perhaps you could create a custom view after hiding all of your unwanted fields. To create a custom view, in 2007 click the View Tab, then in the "Workbook Views Group" choose "Custom Views", Name the view and Add it to your list. Then the next time you open Excel and download data from the same source, click on View Tab | Custom Views and choose the view you created. Hope this works for you.
Larry.
