Basic question but I can not get my head around today.
How to push Excel to ignore cells with formulas and count only those with real values

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.

Try:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(LEN(range)>0))
where range is you range of cells where you need to count only the cells displaying a value.
