Does Excel 2010 have a Pivot Table max size?

I maintain a financial spreadsheet to which I add rows whenever new transactions occur and it has grown to a current size of 3783 rows by 13 columns. Suddenly, its pivot table refreshes and filters are not working correctly. Through trial and error, it seems that spreadsheet size is the root cause: When I “Change Source Data” to a smaller range of rows, the pivots work again. (BTW, I have 16GB of RAM so I know that cannot be my problem).

Any ideas (like a setting within Excel 2010 that I may be overlooking) other than breaking my spreadsheet into smaller pieces?

Thanks to all who reply!

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
Your row numbers are well within the limits (which are really only limited by your PC). I ran a PT the other day with over 100k rows and it worked fine, but you might want to check this out:

It's dated, but seems applicable.

If all else fails, I'd take a look at Power Pivot because then the stops are off.

HTH,

Thanks, Smitty - I'll look into Power Pivot.
